nprfreshair:

Intern Edition, Spring 2011 is now live. Check out what NPR’s 25 interns have been up to this spring. (Particular thanks to Chris, Amelia and Sara — who are interning on the Arts Desk and have done a really amazing job.)

It’s hard to think that the voices on NPR are eventually going to change. Terry Gross, Leonard Lopate, etc. But let’s be honest: the majority of the current roster isn’t exactly young and, even if they continue being great doing what they do, NPR will still have to bring some fresh air into the mix (+1 pun point).  Meaning, NPR is going to have to bring in voices that represent a younger culture.

It’s encouraging then to see NPR actively cultivate young, smart people who might creatively fill the down-the-line void. This is a brainy, well-designed online magazine. And maybe the best online About Us page I’ve ever seen. Wow. Well done NPR interns.
